What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Project Inspector Position
As a Project Inspector you will provide inspection and oversight of day-to-day activities on pipeline, facility, tank, and/or other projects with minimal guidance. This role acts as interface with Colonial’s contract workforce and enforces contractor adherence to company standards, specifications, and procedures. The Project Inspector will also serve as the safety representative on job sites and assume responsibility and accountability for the safety of the workforce, including critical thinking to evaluate and mitigate potential future risks and active solicitation and reporting of near misses.
What You Get to Do:
Enforce compliance with Safety Awareness Manual requirements and Life Safety Rules.
Ensure that hazards are identified and properly addressed prior to beginning work.
Complete documentation accurately within required timelines and ensure that all project and compliance records are accurate, complete, and properly submitted.
Ensure that tools are in good working order and properly calibrated.
Confirm that materials are compliant with Colonial material specifications and engineering standards and inspect materials for suitability prior to use.
Engage project stakeholders as appropriate, ensuring that concerns, issues, project activities, and updates are communicated in a timely, clear, organized, proactive, and consistent manner.
Maintain required HAZWOPER and ICS training certification and respond to incidents as directed.
What You Bring to the Table:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree from an accredited institution.
Ideally, 3 years of experience as an Inspector or equivalent in the oil and gas industry.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
Valid drivers license.
Strong knowledge of government regulations and Industry recommended practices and standards related to pipeline, tanks, and terminals.
Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.

Ideally, 5 years of experience as an inspector.
24 Hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 30 certification.
Excavation Competent Person training and certification.
Certified in CPWI, API, AMPP/NACE, and/or PMI.
