Team Lead, Inventory Control
The Team Lead, Inventory Control will oversee the efficient and accurate management of inventory across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to established processes and protocols. Leading a team of Inventory Control Analysts, this role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, overseeing defective part returns, and providing detailed reports and analytics to both management and customers. The successful candidate will be proficient in inventory management systems, Excel, and possess strong analytical skills to track key performance indicators and optimize inventory operations.
Responsibilities:
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Inventory Control Analysts.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide continuous feedback.
Ensure team adherence to company policies and inventory management procedures.
Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and address discrepancies.
Oversee the coordination of cycle counting.
Generate and present detailed inventory status reports to management and customers.
Monitor and report on defective part returns, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Provide updates on onsite and remote inventory levels.
Track and analyze key performance indicators related to inventory, inbound, and outbound transactions.
Identify trends, areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with other departments such as Procurement, Planning, Warehouse and inventory operations.
Act as a point of contact for inventory-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate communication between onsite and remote inventory locations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into inventory management practices.
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing inventory control and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar role.
Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures.
Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems).
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Intermediate-level experience with Excel, including proficiency in a wide range of functions (e.g: Proficient with a wider range of functions (VLOOKUP, IF statements), creating pivot tables, using data validation, and applying conditional formatting).
