Position Description:
This is an onsite position located in our Pittsburgh, PA or Strongsville, OH or Dallas, TX office with work performed at our client site in Pittsburgh or Strongsville or Dallas; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
CGI is looking for an experienced Java Microservices Developer to join our Applications Development and Maintenance team, supporting our client, a large US bank, working in an advanced technology environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
o Development, support, maintenance, and implementation of complex microservices-based project modules.
o Translate software requirements into scalable, secure Java-based microservices applications, including writing specifications and designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting applications using Java, Microservices, MongoDB, Kafka, and Angular.
o Participate in project planning sessions with technical and functional leads, business analysts, and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed IT solutions.
o Collaborate in design reviews, providing input on security requirements, data flow, and microservices architecture.
o Participate in code reviews, ensuring alignment with pre-defined architectural specifications and identifying/troubleshooting application code-related issues.
o Provide hands-on coaching and support for junior software team personnel in microservices development, systems architecture, reuse, development processes, and technical direction.
o Act as a technical advisor on specialized phases of system design, programming, implementation, and analysis, leading and participating in major system design, development, and implementations.
o Gather system requirements, develop specifications, write code according to specifications, review others code/designs, diagnose and fix bugs in conjunction with QA team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
o Candidate must have an agile mindset and should have 6 Yrs of good hands on as a developer with Java Microservices
o Proven hands-on Software Development experience
o Proven hands on working experience in Java development, Microservices, MongoDB, Kafka and Angular
o Experienced in real data processing and streaming using kafka.
o Solid understanding of Kafka architecture and its components (brokers, topics, partitions, consumer groups).
o Experience with Kafka Streams and Kafka Connect is highly desirable
o Hands on experience in developing and implementing OCP and microservices
o Proven hands-on Software Development experience
o Proven working experience in Java, Apache kafka and OCP development
o Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
o Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
o Hands on experience in Angular Framework and Mongo DB
o Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800-$185,800
