Position Summary:

The Retail Payments Analyst works with the rest of the Retail Payments team in Brand Marketing & Commerce to provide analytical support and management reporting. The Retail Payments group provides support for the Marathon retail network for electronic payment processing, which includes working with the Marathon/ARCO/Tesoro branded outlets, unbranded outlets, and licensed brand business. This includes point-of-sale-level (POS) support, processing network support, and ancillary services support. The Retail Payments group collaborates with a variety of internal and external business partners, including Supply Chain, Law, Accounting, Tax, Finance/Treasury, Auditing, IT, processing and card network partners, POS vendors, and proprietary payment product providers.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for preparing Management reports and analyzing results for insights and action.

The candidate will be involved with expense and revenue variance analysis and explanations and investigate potential issues or opportunities for improvement.

The candidate will aid in on-going cash forecasting activities with BP&A, related to the cash outflows and inflows of retail payments settlement activity between payments/card networks and Marathon customers.

The candidate will be involved with Retail Payments budget development coordination and tracking.

The candidate will perform various ad hoc analyses on a regular basis, as needed, for new business initiatives and brand programs, such as new/alternative retail payment methods.

The candidate will participate in cost savings projects and tracking.

The candidate will research efficiency improvement ideas and plan activities for implementation.

The candidate will identify and implement integration projects that further develop the consistency of handling the multiple brand retail marketing strategy.

The candidate will help perform monitoring tasks of Retail Payments brand standards and conduct activities to enforce those standards on behalf of Marathon.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or other related discipline required or five (5) years of experience in lieu.• Five (5) or more years of experience in analytics, pricing, fuel marketing sales, revenue and profitability management, or other related experience required.

Skills

Financial analysis/accounting experience preferred

Brand management and/or retail payments experience preferred

Microsoft Office; Excel proficiency

Tableau/MS Power BI experience a plus

SAP experience a plus

Hyperion experience a plus

Salesforce experience a plus
