SEMCO – Sr. Administrative Assistant (Niles, MI)
SEMCO Energy is seeking a Sr. Administrative Assistant to support our Operations team in Niles, MI! Under general supervision, the Sr. Administrative Assistant provides a wide variety of administrative and staff support to a department or group of professionals. Responsibilities may include information requests, generating reports, tables and charts, relaying confidential information, maintaining files, and screening of visitors and telephone calls.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Supports operational needs of internal partners including marketing, construction, GIS, and property accounting
Assists in the preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations and personnel changes.
Administers programs, projects, general and/or specific processes and policies to the operating unit served.
Serves as an administrative liaison with others within or outside the company regarding administrative issues related to purchasing, personnel, facilities and operations.
Composes memos, communications, researches and creates presentations as necessary.
Coordinates district meetings and events.
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
High School Diploma required. Associates degree in business or other related area, preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience.
Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the company.
Excellent written, verbal and listening skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to confidentially process and maintain data.
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.
Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.
Must adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves sitting at a desk and operating personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Duties may also involve occasional bending, stooping and lifting of up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Occasional travel to various worksites may also be required, depending on assignment.
The hourly pay rate for this role is $27 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.
