Job Summary
Assists in drug preparation, drug storage, drug distribution, drug inventory, and required record keeping under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers.
Must utilize effective problem solving skills and appropriate. Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Avera and its services in a positive manner to all customers.
Supports Avera Health/Avera St. Mary’s through the daily application of our mission, vision, core values and social principles while providing quality care and service to our patients, their families, coworkers, physicians, volunteers, and the communities we serve.
Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively with Safety Principles.
Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. May be involved on organization committees.
Able to deal with phone conversations, correspondence, or direct contact with people about billing issues.
Need working knowledge of insurance, Medicare and basic accounting principles.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Completion of Pharmacy Technician Technical Program preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certified as a Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required.
Registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
8:30 am – 5:00 pm and 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (rotating every other week)
Occasional weekend (Every 4th Saturda, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
Occasional holiday
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$18.50 – $25.75 per hour
