Fabrication Quality Control Manager Job

Job Summary

A Fabrication Quality Control Professional ensures all work performed in compliance with applicable codes/standards, state / federal, customer specifications and all company defined procedures and safe work practices. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Quality Control Jobs

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.

     Regularly report to work, on time and prepared to perform all tasks as outlined in job           description and / or assigned.

Perform duties in a safe, ethical and legal manner following the policies and procedures as established by Greenberry unless otherwise prohibited by law.

Review of customer specifications to ensure implemented procedures meet and / or exceed requirements.

Participate in the development of new welding procedures specifications and welder qualifications.

Material receipt inspection.

Dimensional inspections including fit up, joint preparation for welding, and final (after welding).

Monitor welding activities.

Inspect and evaluate welds according to implemented inspection procedures, standard, codes and drawings.

Record inspection results. Maintain QC work packages and travelers.

Plan, order, document and track Non-Destructive Testing activities.

Document review.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.

CWI current certification required !

Hiring this position from local applicants with in the Golden Triangle, Lafayette to Baton Rouge communities

Must have at least three (5 years of experience. Must be knowledgeable in welding standards and operating procedures specifically ASME and AWS. Good working knowledge of NDT methods. Must have knowledge of equipment, machines, tools and raw materials. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and drawings. Must have solid computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and outstanding organizational abilities. Must be able to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines and work in a team environment. Current or previously certified CWI and or SNT-TC-1A is beneficial but not required.

Physical Demands:

Employee must be in good physical condition: possess good manual dexterity; be able to sit, stand, kneel, and squat; be able to lift at least 50 lbs.; and be able to hear, speak and see within normal ranges (use of corrective devices is allowed). Must be able to wear all required PPE.

Working Conditions:

Normally works on job site where work is performed in a variety of environments, i.e. may be outside or in a manufacturing environment. Will be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, loud noise, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment.
