Job Summary: OneSource EHS is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Safety/Industrial Hygiene (IH) Specialist position to add to its team of EHS professionals. The Safety/IH Specialist will be responsible for supporting Safety and IH activities throughout the organization. This position offers competitive pay and an opportunity for career advancement. Duties & Essential Job Functions: 1. Develop or revise policies and procedures to meet or exceed OSHA and RAGAGEP standards. 2. Understand operating principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operations. 3. Assist with the development and implementation of site specific plans and procedures covering a variety of safety issues. 4. Conduct incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure. 5. Conduct compliance audits and program assessments and develop action plans to close identified gaps 6. As needed, observe and ensure implementation of Safe Work Practices on site including compliance with site safety requirements. 7. Perform exposure assessments by collecting industrial hygiene samples of air, water, vapors, gases, dusts and other potentially toxic materials for analysis. 8. Manage exposure assessment data, including qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment documentation. 9. Assist in the care and maintenance of industrial hygiene sampling equipment. 10. Develop simple Industrial Hygiene sampling plans to include sampling and analysis methods. 11. Assist with special projects as assigned. Other Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Must have excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills. 2. Knowledge of OSHA occupational health regulations, ANSI standards, NIOSH standards, ACGIH standards, etc. 3. Working knowledge of incident investigation and analysis tools (Cause Mapping, 5-Why’s, FMEA, etc.) 4. Solid interpersonal, influential, coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities 5. Basic knowledge of occupational stressors to include (heat stress, chemicals, radiation, ergonomics, noise, biological hazards, etc.) 6. Chemical sampling knowledge and techniques 7. Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene instrumentation and monitoring equipment 8. Solid interpersonal, influential, coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities 9. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently, but also oversee and mentor others. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 10. Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs. Qualifications: Required: 1. At least five (5) years progressive safety and health related experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) field. 2. TWIC, ARSC Basic Safety. Preferred: 1. Associate’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or closely related area of study from an accredited university or equivalent work experience. 2. Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or closely related area of study. 3. Prior experience drafting policies and procedures in an industrial setting. 4. Prior experience performing Industrial Hygiene Monitoring/Sampling.
