What you’ll do:

The Paraprofessional works as a staff member of the Education Department team. Primarily responsible for implementing and adhering to the principles of the Positive Organizational Culture and providing instructional services to students. The Paraprofessional reports to the Educational Resource Coordinator and/or the Principal and Assistant Principal.

To be considered, you should:

Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.

Have at least 60 hours of college credit or received the Paraprofessional Certification.

Have related experience working with at-risk youth.

Possess a knowledge of: Instructional strategies and how they can be employed to deliver curriculum and assess student learning, various methodologies and research related to learning and working with at-risk, high-school youth, effective classroom management techniques and behavioral management styles that result in understanding of how to manage and teach to various learning styles, effective communication techniques that enable positive and productive collaboration with other site staff, and technology and how it is utilized as an educational tool.

Have the demonstrated ability to: Establish a teaching rapport with students which results in student achievement in all program areas, collaborate with staff to assist in the delivery of curriculum and implement a team approach to working with students, learn and utilize computers in the overall function of performing required teaching duties, and accept additional tasks as assigned including flexible work schedule and extracurricular assignments.

Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
