Summary

The Material Handler performs various types of material handling work including moving parts and supplies throughout the plant, and loading and unloading materials to and from truck trailers with forklifts and overhead cranes. The Material Handler performs inventory counts and uses a computer system to enter data.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

Maintains information regarding which parts and supplies go to various production areas and ensures that these areas are fully stocked

Moves parts and supplies throughout the plant using forklifts and overhead cranes

Loads and unloads materials to and from truck trailers using forklifts and overhead cranes

Conducts inventory counts as directed to maintain a correct perpetual inventory count

Enters inventory information into computer system, as directed

Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained

Qualifications

The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

1 year experience driving a forklift

Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Preferred Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

3 years experience operating material handling equipment

Experience with D365, Microsoft Teams
