Description
The Senior Event Technician will play a critical role in the design,
setup, and support of onsite and hybrid events for an established
multi-channel retailer company. This role is responsible for:
– using their technical expertise and creative innovation to
contribute to the overall technical strategy of live events based on
the creative vision and unique event scope;
– utilizing deep knowledge of video equipment and technology to ensure
flawless operation of all video equipment and decision-making skills
to make real-time adjustments as needed to ensure quality control;
and
– collaborating with team members to optimize the operational setup of
the production control room and oversee the maintenance and
troubleshooting of all aspects of the clients production
facilities and control rooms.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prouction Coordination
Provide technical consultation on the production design of live event
experiences through professional quality video, audio, lighting, and
presentation to allow the client and external partners to connect and
communicate their message in a distinct and technologically innovative
way to colleagues and customers alike.
– Coordinate the technical production needs for all events and ensure
requirements are in full compliance with established policies and
procedures.
– Ensure fully quality check and optimization of facility, event
assets, and experience prior to production.
– Assist with presenter preparation including direction, facilitating
rehearsal and other pre-event needs.
– Oversee postproduction needs including basic editing and delivery of
recordings.
– Participate in assessment of technical challenges and oversee
creation of incident and postmortem reports.
– Collaborate on the assessment and recommendation of solutions around
overall strategy for studio and event spaces based on operational
requirements.
– Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with team members to
ensure alignment on event procedures, scheduling, and production
briefs as required.
Technical Events
– Implement the setup and configuration of all necessary control room
elements to ensure a high-quality event for client productions
– Determine the required hardware, equipment, and production assets
needed for event and oversee the necessary testing and quality
control on all items prior.
– Oversee the operational approach to fulfill the creative production
needs for client events, including but not limited to:
– Technical direction
– Audio mixing
– Robotic cameras
– Virtual platforms
– Graphics
– Video playback
– Streaming
– Lighting design
– Teleprompter
– Use expert knowledge of production equipment to ensure optimization
of all equipment configurations and setups. Use complex decision
making to recommend repair or replacement of equipment.
– Provide post-production support for events including basic editing
and graphics creation.
– Mentor Event Technicians and collaborate on the strategy of training
programs to develop personnel and ensure they have the skillset and
knowledge to effectively perform their roles and provide
recommendations and opportunities for advancing capabilities.
– Perform regular preventative maintenance on all production equipment
and ensure optimization of all equipment configurations and setups,
and initiate troubleshooting of more complex issues.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
5 years of experience in live event production, event coordination,
broadcast, and video production, or another similar field.
3 years of experience in:
– onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events
– database and scheduling management
Studio production and event experience.
Experience with control room equipment including video switchers, audio
consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback software.
Knowledge of virtual production and meeting platforms.
A keen eye for detail with a knowledge of what creatively work
