Job Summary

The Director of FP&A is responsible for strategy and initiatives to analyze a wide variety of operational and financial data to provide business intelligence reporting to the organization. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees a team of Financial Managers/Analysts dedicated to providing all finance and business analysis for the brand. This position will also be responsible for leading the planning and forecasting process, including reporting results to the board, bank and other constituents.

Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions

Provides team leadership to build team morale, provide for succession planning, and results oriented team members

Effectively partners with key customers and business partners to identify and understand financial reporting needs, developing viable solutions and influential information. Capable of working with operators, financial experts, accounting, and other critical business partners both within and external to the organization.

Lead analysis function, focusing on sales/marketing analysis as well as margin analysis and all other ad-hoc analytical requirements

Partner with and provide analytical support as needed to RSC departments and Executives as they evaluate various strategic business opportunities.

Partner with business leaders to assess the financial impact of business decisions. Develop financial analysis, including scenario driven analysis as appropriate, to determine likely financial outcomes.

Provide financial support by leading the annual planning process; participate in periodic meetings and conference calls to ensure best possible financial planning processes are in place.

Partner with business leaders to develop forecast expectations and test the validity of forecast submissions, and develop independent assessments of risks and opportunities relative to the forecast.

Build and maintain integrated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow modeling to support annual and longer term planning for valuations, banks, and other strategic scenario analyses.

Build and maintain short and long-term forecast models to project performance against bank covenants.

Provide leadership support in re-assessing the business intelligence platform for the organization

Oversee Treasury functions, banking relationships, and weekly cash forecasting model

Build pro forma models supporting the investment of new restaurant openings and remodels

Supports CFO by preparing materials for Board of Directors’ meetings and other executive presentations.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, MBA preferred, CPA is a plus

10 years of financial and accounting experience in a multi-unit retail or restaurant organization.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Strong Financial Forecasting, Modeling and Analysis Skills

Proven ability to lead projects to conclusion within designated timeframes

Ability to build rapport & relationships with variety of stakeholders with diverse backgrounds, expertise & experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to use independent judgment to organize and prioritize work, manage resources to achieve financial goals
