Director, Strategic Marketing

As our Director, Strategic Marketing located in McKinney, TX you will be responsible for creating and driving the Strategic Marketing plan for the global Pressure Management business.
In this highly visible Senior Leadership Team role, you will identify long term trends with wide-reaching impact across Strategic Business Units and perform deep market research to surface new opportunities related to our strategy, specifically around decarbonization, diversification, and digitalization. You will put cohesive messages together to communicate our value to customers and articulate how we uniquely address their challenges. You will work to identify partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions that support growth while leading and influencing other parts of the business and across world areas.
Emerson’s Pressure Management Headquarters is located in McKinney, TX. This site combines our professional offices as well as a state-of-the-art test and evaluation facility for product testing. We focus on the design and manufacture or pressure control regulators and pressure relief valves for applications within the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, and other industries.

In this role, your responsibilities will be:
Conduct primary research and develop market intelligence related to our strategic goals
Analyze and prioritize opportunities based on market potential, competitors, customer pain, channel dynamics and return on investment.
Evaluate markets and business development opportunities outside of our current areas of engagement.
Evolve and inform our medium to long term growth roadmap as it relates to our strategy.
Create messaging and communicate value proposition with sales tools and collaboration with the MARCOM teams.
Elevate our current solutions offerings within broader Emerson Automation Solutions efforts around Sustainability and Decarbonization. Act as business unit representative to the broader Sustainability and Decarbonization teams.
Develop close working relationships with all functional groups impacting the strategic roadmap with strong connections to product teams and world area sales teams.
Coordinate competitive intelligence activities across Pressure Management team members.
Support internal Pressure Management acquisition process:
Coordinate and set cadence with business units and world areas to generate an actionable strategic roadmap and deal funnel for inorganic growth.
Help evaluate potential acquisition targets, in line with strategic roadmap, to grow market participation, served market, drive strategy or complete our solution offering.
In conjunction with President and SBU leaders, foster relationships with acquisition and partnership targets and participation in due diligence
Steer and drive the pricing function working to drive a more global view of pricing opportunities and actions
Collaborate with the Director of Digital Customer Experience on accelerating and amplifying our digital presence
Coordinate with MARCOM teams to create and implement marketing promotional plans including supporting the messaging on sales tools and social media presence.
Be an active and engaging voice on the Senior Leadership Team and Group/Enterprise marketing teams

For this role you will need:
Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of marketing and/or strategy experience
Experience with developing strategy, business development and market analysis.
Strong leadership, organizational, project management, written, oral and presentation skills.
Solid interpersonal skills; ability to get things done while working with cross functional teams and at different levels of the organization.
Dedicated self-starter, and able to take new ideas from conception to implementation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Basic financial skills (margin, P&L).
Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and international.
Current legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred qualifications that set you apart:
Bachelors in Marketing or STEM related field
Advanced degree in Marketing or Business
Prior experience working at Emerson.
