Job Summary

The Office of Information Technology at UT Arlington provides premier support and solutions to our Maverick Community. We are a team of highly skilled professionals who approach our work with pride, respect, and a shared purpose.

The IT Business Analyst for Service Now provides process improvement recommendations, business requirements planning, system configuration management, application testing, quality control, and reporting to user departments for specific application software used by departments, or the equivalent. The IT Business Analyst will also perform analysis of exception conditions, error processing, and workflow efficiencies for applications that they support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with business and technical partners to understand current state processes, identify challenges and opportunities, establish target state processes, and determine project requirements and approach.

Perform problem/root cause analysis of business processes, workflow processes, and troubleshooting for user departments.

Work with associated business areas to resolve exceptions preventing normal business operations as they relate to software applications and business procedures.

Act as a liaison on behalf of Office of Information Technology and departments for technology related communications, projects, and meetings with technical staff/vendors as needed.

Identify and develop practices, test plans, business process documentation, and configuration guides

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in a technical field.

Experience working with business users and technical staff to complete projects and change requests, identifying and analyzing business process models for departments, documenting current/to-be business processes, building test scripts and testing with departments.

Minimum Years of Experience

Two plus (2) years experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience working with project management or development in Service Now or other ticketing systems.

Experience working with other enterprise software and/or development platforms.

Experience assuming project management role for software application projects, including agile methodologies for projects.

Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, etc.)

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and documentation skills would be most helpful for this position.

Other Requirements

Experience working with document imaging software like Highland Perceptive Content (ImageNow) or Hyland (OnBase) Software

Working Conditions

In-Office and Remote Work as determined by department manager.

Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and Microsoft Office Suite, general office conditions.
