Job Description
The Housing Assignment Coordinator, under general supervision, organizes and manages various programs and services, serving the students of assigned housing placement. This individual will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Housing Operations and Administrative Services team to ensure that all housing assignments are made in a timely and effective manner. Residence Life meets the academic, social and personal needs of students living in campus housing while instilling values of learning, citizenship and acceptance through peer, faculty and staff engagement. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Primary Work hours are Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM and ability to work evenings and weekends as work responsibilities require. Primary work location is Stephenville, Texas with periodic support at special events located at Tarleton Fort Worth. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the university.
Responsibilities:
30% Manages housing occupancy through housing and meal plan assignments. Input and update of offline rooms, inventories, and inspections. Facilitates housing operations. Assists in developing, updating, and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
20% Coordinates and completes housing setup within StarRez such as building rate tables, building/floor tables, room attributes, and roommate tables. Facilitates the maintenance and continual updates of all systems including the purchase and creation of new modules or programs within StarRez.
15% Establishes working procedures for all aspects of the department in relation to computer entries and the system of placing and assessing changes to student accounts. Serves as liaison with Information Technology Services, Business Services, Financial Aid/Scholarships, Registrars Office, Athletics, Honors College, Student Accessibility Services, and Enrollment Management. Coordinates the development of various departmental reports with ITS, IR and others who require access to resident data tables. Coordinates the development of various departmental reports for housing systems, audits, and historical data.
10% Audits all contracts and billings, including housing and board plans, to assess accuracy for each resident. Maintains accurate capacity and occupancy records, including university and US census data. Analyzes occupancy trends and recommends occupancy strategies and solutions. Provides statistical analysis and reporting for enrollment and housing application trends. Develops and implements quality improvement plans to operational procedures and policies
10% Supervises the collection of student payments, posting to the appropriate accounts, and forwards payment and supporting documentation to Business Services.
10% Maintains responsibility for all website design and changes but will work collaboratively with the Occupancy Management team to define content and other materials. Monitors communications between all Housing and University Systems including Banner, Blackboard, Touchnet, CS Gold, Texan Sync and more as needed.
5% Serves as a representative of the Department of Residential Living & Learning on various University committees.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of higher education, student affairs or higher education housing experience (e.g. Housing, Residence Life, Student Activities, Career Services).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of business communications and student information systems software; Demonstrated leadership skills; evidence of strong organizational and problem resolution skills; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Master’s degree and more than three years of higher education, student affairs or higher education housing experience is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Banner and Housing Module is preferred.

Salary
The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience with a target base salary range of $47,000 – $51,700 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
