Job Summary and Qualifications

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for supporting the Controller and the overall financial activities for the division. Interact with Physician Services financial management and HCA Division leadership regarding financial and operational activities. Partnering in development and execution of strategies to improve Division operations. Supporting Division, hospitals and markets for financial and operational reporting, guidance and analytics. Support training of DPS’s and PA’s to enable them to train, educate and guide practice managers

SUPERVISOR: Assistant Chief Financial Officer

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Strategically focus operational actions through projecting, forecasting and budgeting financial results, while also working with operational leadership and management to implement strategies and tactics to improve forecasted results

• Partner with and provide strategic guidance to Division, hospitals and operational management through financial analysis, ad hoc reports, proformas and forecasts – including establishment of performance targets and operational execution to achieve targeted performance

• Actively engage in training and leadership to operational management and financial staff, as directed by Controller. To include training re: context and insight relative to strategies, operational processes and internal control requirements/timing.

• Interface with shared service functions with respect to reporting and financial issues to provide resolution recommendations. This includes and is not limited to CBO, Accounting, Reporting & Analytics, Parallon/CBO, Coding, Physician Compensation, Purchasing/Capital.

• Actively engage as an operational partner for assigned management team

• Assist finance team with presentation and analysis of monthly financial results, including assembly of the MOR packages, for Group, Division and hospital leadership with a focus on identifying and driving strategies for operational improvement based upon analysis of run rate performance and/or forecasts that identify variation from budgets or trend.

• Attend operations, physician, and hospital meetings for strategic planning and provide Reporting, Analytics, Forecasts and Strategic insight.

• Manage and evaluate performance to ensure quality of services and maintain technical expertise of workgroup personnel.

• Drive timeliness, accuracy and completeness of financial reports to meet specified deadlines.

• Support implementation and tracking of strategies, special projects and other duties as assigned

• Prepare and coordinate distribution of monthly reports or returns required by regulatory agencies.

• Assist with internal compliance audits as required.

• Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure. Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.

• Perform other duties as needed.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in accounting or other business-related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three to five years of progressive accounting/financial experience preferred. Emphasis on experience budgeting, forecasting, strategic and operational analysis, preferably in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• CPA preferred.
