WSP is currently has a career opportunity for a Mid-Level Water / Wastewater Engineer to be involved in projects with our Earth & Infrastructure Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The primary focus of the position is project work for the development of engineering studies, design reports, construction documents, and construction oversight/administration related to water and wastewater infrastructure in the municipal and industrial markets in Arizona and across the country.
Your Impact
Will work collaboratively with the team including Senior Engineers
Provide basic engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection and treatment systems, which may include pump/lift stations, wells, chemical feed systems, and storage reservoirs
Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems and collection systems under instruction from the Project Engineer
Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water distribution and sewer systems
Mentor Junior staff
Ensure timeliness and technical quality of deliverables
Project manage scope, budget and schedules
Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc. Ability to use CAD software is considered a plus
Work in partnership with members of other WSP offices on projects and project pursuits
Check design computations and quantity estimates
Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
Occasional field work and travel to project sites in Arizona and the US may be required. Approximately 5% overnight travel.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or other related engineering degree. MS degree is a plus
3 to 5 years related or relevant experience
Engineer-in-Training certification or preparing for the exam
Arizona Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain Arizona PE registration a plus.
Applicant must possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously
Collaborative team player
Clear and concise, verbal, and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare written reports, coordinate meetings, and conduct effective client presentations.
Must be team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
Be responsibility for client satisfaction engineering quality and program success.
Possesses the skill to build a working team from a group of individually talented professionals to obtain challenging goals.
Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Companys driving (MVR) policy
