Description:
A Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining large machinery used in construction. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications typically associated with this role:
Responsibilities:
Operating Machinery: Safely operate heavy equipment such as front end loaders, backhoes, and excavators.
Site Preparation: Excavate and move earth, load and unload materials, and level surfaces as required by the project.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment, greasing equipment, report any malfunctions, and ensure machinery is in good working condition.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.
Coordination: Work with other crew members to ensure precise movements and operations.
Track equipment usage, and report any issues.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various types of heavy equipment and understanding of their functions.
Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Will undergo in-house heavy equipment certification with the client.
