Location/Division
Unity Lab Services, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, provides coordinated solutions, instrument, and enterprise services to our customers. We are customer oriented, an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific, and eager to drive growth within our organization. The candidate should have knowledge and understanding of the principles and applications of isotope ratio mass spectrometry. Products include Thermo Fisher IRMS (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/industrial/mass-spectrometry/isotope-ratio-mass-spectrometry-irms/gas-isotope-ratio-mass-spectrometry-irms.html) instruments Delta V, MAT 253 Plus, and a variety of peripheral instruments including EA Isolink (https://www.thermofisher.com/order/catalog/product/11206175?SID=srch-srp-11206175) , chromatography, continuous flow and dual inlet applications.
Territory: up to 80% throughout the United States; ideal candidate would live in the Southeast, Northeast or Mid-West and within 1 hr of a major airport.

Field Service Engineers handle all aspects of field service support and customer relationship management including but not limited to installations, repair, preventative maintenance and providing details reports to the customer. As we strive to exceed customer expectation, the team works closely together to coordinate supplies and sharing knowledge to provide technical expertise to customers resulting in high-quality results to ensure customer happiness and satisfaction.
A day in the Life:
Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventative maintenance services.
Meet customer expectations through excellence in repair and support of customers’ products.
Maintain communication with customer to ensure understanding of status, cost, and scheduling of the service event.
Provide rapid and knowledgeable response to all customers’ inquiries.
Must be proficient with the use of customer management software for service calls, handle parts inventories, and complete job tasks.
Schedule and deliver detailed preventative maintenance service to ensure maximum uptime of customer equipment.
Reviews reports and documentation from customers and inspects malfunctioning product to resolve nature and scope of problem.
Regularly attend factory provided technical and service training on newest and latest products.
Provide accurate and completion of quality training, service reports, expense reports, company provided car maintenance and mileage reporting, as well as other various administrative tasks.

Keys to Success:
Education
Requirement is a BS degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience operating analytical equipment, i.e. mass spectrometry
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must have valid driver license
Ability to travel up to 80% overnight domestic travel
Ability to work overtime and/or outside regular business hours
Physical Requirements which can involve lifting up to 50 pounds or heavier with a team
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $40.06–$60.09.
