HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Works in the Quality Control Department. Performs mechanical inspection of precision-machined components and assemblies. Utilizes basic computer skills and demonstrates ability in geometry, trigonometry, and interpretation of ANSI Y14.5M. Follows procedures specific to products and specific to Quality Systems such as ISO.

Reports to the Senior Supervisor of Quality Control.

Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility which enable and Drive Change within the Organization.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Fills out applicable QC documents per QC procedures.

Uses computer systems daily.

Works under minimal supervision.

Performs inspection of mechanical components. Inspection of sub-assemblies and finished assemblies will require the innate ability to learn new Inspection Techniques.

Reviews supplier inspection data and collects data as required.

Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.

Interfaces with production personnel daily.

Interfaces with design and manufacturing engineers and planners to resolve day-to-day issues.

Sets up and uses close tolerance precision gaging (bore gaging, sine plates, height gages)

Perform First Article, Work in Process, Final, Visual and FAI inspections.

Calibrates and maintains inspection equipment as required.

Performs inspection at supplier sites as required.

Ability to program a CMM is a must.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

High school diploma/GED preferred with 4-7 years of relevant, technical, or equivalent education in a manufacturing in lieu of education.

Must have experience with calipers, height gauge, micrometers, go/no go gauge, and CMM inspections.

Physical & Environmental requirements:

Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

Occasionally repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures

Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Occasional light to medium work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.

Prolonged use of computer monitors.

Buddy lifting may be required.
