Work Schedule: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Eligible for the MA signing incentive of $2,000.
Summary:
Provides direct and in-direct patient care under direction of office leadership. Performs duties such as routine intake of patients which includes taking vital signs, performing point of care testing as appropriate and assuring patients understand their discharge instructions. May also be required to transport patients. They will also be required to answer phone messages, propose orders per the JPP and assure providers are made aware when there are outstanding tasks on their desktops/message center that they must complete.
Responsibilities:
Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers and other health care members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit.
Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
Attends and serves on one-unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and/or engagement.
Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
Provides care in accordance with the patients plan of care.
Label and Delivers specimens per policy.
Maintains a safe environment complying with policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
May perform other duties upon request.
Other Information:
Practicing as a MA for a minimum of 2 years within the organization (required to apply for MA II status).
Employed for a minimum of 1 year as a MA II within the organization.
BLS certification kept current.
Demonstrates system values and integrates them into daily practice.

Ability to work closely under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Ongoing verification of level of practice as evidenced by the completion of the Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder Verification Tool.
Submission of the Verification Tool at the time of their annual evaluation to maintain their current status.

Education
Required High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)Current Medical Assistant registration/certification.

Working Conditions
Lifting, moving and loading 30 to 50 pounds.
Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
