Reports to: Analyst Work Planning
Location: Farmington, ME
The salary range for this position ranges from $63,000 to $78,000
dependent on experience level.
Responsibilities
The Scheduler will organize work based on work order due dates tasks and
priorities, and feedback from the stakeholders. The Scheduler will also
identify work out of design, i.e. : “Ready for Planning”; work in this
stage is organized by due date and layout in a 3 month look ahead to be
discussed at the weekly planning meetings.
The scheduler is also responsible for creating a 3-week construction
schedule, to be discussed at the weekly scheduling meetings; [1 week
look-behind; 2 weeks look-ahead]
The Scheduler identifies Material Need Dates, identifies drivers for
poor material adherence, and communicates results to Area Manager and
Supervisors. Discussions include analysis for improvement.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work – range of
responsibilities):
1. Maintains and implements the master work schedules for area
operations, including shift work. Works with the Senior Work Planner and
area management to provide contingency plans for rebalancing the
workload. Provides back-up to Senior Work Planner. 25%
2. Maintains data for the global templates used to create schedules and
forecasts of future resource requirements. Tracks historical costs and
durations for continuous improvement of work plan estimates. Prepares
work plans and schedules which present resource and material
requirements and forecasts for optimal resource utilization.
3. Monitors current and future workload to ensure area plans and
schedules maximize productivity, control costs and meet or exceeds
service level agreements. Monitors area performance through analysis of
manpower utilization and workload trends and productivity. Keeps zone
and area management informed of results.
4. Identifies, develops and implements work process for continuous best
practices for overall scheduling.
5. Responsible for the integrity of data input into work management
systems and operating databases. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of
data through weekly Scheduling update meetings.
6. Provide storm support as necessary
Skills and Requirements
Bachelors Degree preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 3
years relevant experience or High School/GED with a minimum of 5 years
relevant experience required.
Requires expert level project and schedule management skills.
Also requires knowledge of Capital and O&M Budgeting,
Construction Principles and Practices, Operations, Maintenance, Safety
Standards and Business Processes.
General understanding of labor work practices.
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. SAP, Arcos Crew
Manager, Microsoft Word and Excel).
