ARA’s Randolph, VT division has an exciting, fulfilling opportunity. ARA is seeking a Mechanical Technician to fabricate and test established products and customer prototypes. This hands-on job will require fabricating and building sub-assemblies within a production environment to accomplish final system deliverables. This position offers opportunities to work with our team, learning the basics of our systems, products and use of our equipment. We reward and promote personnel from within that want to take on responsibility and leadership roles. This position offers some opportunities to travel to different customer locations supporting training events, maintaining products, and troubleshooting our systems.
What you’ll do as a Mechanical Technician
Use drawings and schematics to fabricate and assemble various mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies.
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify opportunities for improvement in the build process and engineering documentation.
Occasional building maintenance.
As a mechanical technician at the Integrated Products Division, you will have exposure to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies on state-of-the-art products. From security systems to robotics, the work varies considerably and often.
Mechanical Technician Requirements
Ability to work independently and problem solve.
Familiarity with assembly drawings, blueprints and schematics.
Proficient with common hand, power, pneumatic and measurement tools.
Effective communicator oral and written.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic system assembly.
Capable of multi-tasking and have flexibility as required to help our teams in the areas of need.
Computer usage experience.
High school diploma.
4-5 years of experience.
Mechanical Technician Preferences
Forklift and overhead crane experience.
Machining experience.
Welding experience.
Painting experience
