JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Program Support 2 provides assistance to the Director of Practicum Education and the Practicum Education Department regarding advanced administrative tasks such as scheduling, complex filing, and database management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With a commitment to the School of Social Work’s mission of advancing knowledge and community engagement to achieve human rights and social justice, the primary duties of this position include:
Managing the administrative and practicum placement databases for both the MSW and BSW programs, working within multiple university databases to assist with department work flow.
Administering the Practicum Educational Contracts and Evaluations for both the MSW and BSW students, managing student, advisor, and practicum instructors access to placement database.
Communicating grading instructions to all advisors (including in cases of incompletes), tracking and resolving missing practicum grades and incompletes, as well as Educational Contracts and Evaluations for both MSW and BSW students.
Inputting grades on behalf of Adjunct Advisors who could not have access to the UConn People Soft system, inputting data and registration information for advising seminars.
Ensuring that all students are correctly registered for practicum placement and seminar courses.
Maintaining effective communication with students, practicum advisors, and practicum instructors regarding practicum information and deadlines.
Managing the advisor roster of students.
Handling logistics for practicum seminars, and practicum representative and advisory committee meetings.
Coordinating with SSW department to provide CECs to practicum instructors.
Maintaining practicum statistics and required data reports.
Managing department email and communications.
Performing related administrative practicum duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience OR Associate’s degree in a related field and four years of profession-based experience OR an equivalent combination of education.
Knowledge of and experience with Excel, Word, Power point, Microsoft 365, and creating templates/fillable forms.
Strong written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Knowledge of or experience with enterprise systems such as Core Elms, Qualtrics.
Knowledge of or experience with enterprise systems such as Courseleaf, Webfocus, PeopleSoft.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, permanent position. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
