Summary of Role:
We are looking for a dynamic benefits specialist for the US Benefits team located at our global headquarters in Malta, NY. The Benefits Specialist will partner closely with the Total Rewards team, key business stakeholders, HR Business Partners, and employees to understand business goals, needs and routinely engage with key stakeholders to ensure benefit and leave of absence solutions positively drive desired outcomes. Success in this role depends on the candidate’s ability to collaborate with others to support design and delivery of all leave types and other benefit portfolio activities. The successful candidate must have a passion for improving lives, detail accuracy, vendor management, and strong communication and coordination skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Assist with the administration of all leaves, benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan
· Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and provide analytics and interpretation of data
· Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
· Help to maintain program renewals, vendor changes, and new program expansion
· Assists with the open enrollment process and other employee training opportunities
· Gather employee data and assist with the processing of billing and invoices
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to answer employee-based benefit questions
· Work with HCM software to pull information to respond to inquiries, resolve issues and format files for payroll upload (401k, retro deductions, HSA, commuter benefits)
· Assist with implementation of new vendors where applicable
· Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Skills / Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
· Travel – up to 10% travel possible
· Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Benefits related position
· Large Corporate exposure is highly desired
· Billing and invoicing experience preferred
· Knowledge of Open Enrollment
· Professional and high energy to take on this well-rounded benefits position
· Experience with Microsoft Office with higher skillsets in Excel
· Experience with Workday
· Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, including experience establishing and tracking program metrics
· Experience identifying and resolving issues independently, will take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
· Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing requirements and business needs
· Ability to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling and succinct way in written and verbal communications. Presentation caliber verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities. Ability to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results
· Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
· Strong bias for action and “get stuff done” attitude
Expected Salary Range
$46,100.00 – $88,200.00
