Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are currently looking for maintenance mechanics within a food/beverage production environment:
– Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the operation, repair, and normal maintenance of the production machinery and equipment.
– Adhere to all policies in critical areas when maintenance is required.
– Skilled and experienced in welding and automation.
– Capable of reading and understanding electrical and pneumatic schematics.
– Communicate with operators, production line mechanics, and management about machinery issues as required.
– Prepare, organize, and handle improvement projects for machinery and equipment as directed by management.
– Attendance to maintenance meetings as required.
– Organize and handle all suppliers and/or contractors as needed.
– Follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
– Reduce production downtime by making needed repairs on the production line a top priority.
– Responsible for maintenance and greasing of machines.
– Proper documentation must be submitted when modifications are required.
– Responsible for accurate documentation of all maintenance completed in the maintenance logbook and recording all greasing performed on the greasing report.
– Responsible for inventory of parts and overall cleanliness of the maintenance shop.
– The production maintenance technician is in charge of startup and shutdown of the production lines.
– Assist in the responsibility of giving breaks to operators. Communicate with the line director/shift leader to receive instruction as to who to break and at what times.
– Must be skilled in the operation of all production line equipment and prepared to successfully operate the machinery in the case of an operator’s absence.
Hard Skills
Industrial Maintenance Experience
Experience in production machinery troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
Experience in food production maintenance (preferred)
Welding
Automation
Reading and understanding electrical and pneumatic schematics
Soft Skills
Effective communication with operators, production line mechanics, and management
Organizational skills for handling projects and suppliers/contractors
Attention to detail for accurate documentation
Proactive problem-solving to reduce production downtime
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Johnstown, New York.
Work Environment
Clean, well-lit facility, comfortable working environment, high-speed food manufacturing facility
