Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of EFT ACH Spec I. Primary Function: operate various funds transfer and electronic systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of Electronic Funds Transfers: Automated Clearing House (ACH), Wires, CMO, check clearing, returns, exception processing, remote deposit capture, Bill Pay. Serve as a resource specialist by responding to internal and external member service requests. Responsibilities require a moderate volume of phone communication and interactions with third party vendors.
Responsibilities
- Process and validate Automated Clearing House (ACH) origination client files to ensure all transactions are accurately entered to ACH system.
- Responsible for adhering to Automated Clearing House procedures, reviewing ACH system / reports and acting upon error messages and file status indicators, transmitting files from ACH system, reviewing returns, reversals, death notices and reclamations.
- Process and verify incoming and outgoing wires. Ensure adherence to departmental and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and prevent fraud.
- Use internal and third party reports and forms to perform tasks related to share draft and ACH posting exception processing, payroll exception processing, and stop payments (share draft and ACH).
- Process bond coupons, non-US checks, and large dollar return notifications through the Federal Reserve and other third-party collection systems.
- Create and disburse written notifications to members about transactions performed and maintains required reports and logs to ensure adherence to departmental procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal/external members service requests and provide resolutions of issues. Exercise professional communication skills to optimize each contact with members and external vendors/financial institutions.
- Track, monitor and report issues relative to processing delays or barriers and offers suggestions to improve processes. Responsible for ensuring compliance with departmental standards and processes to increase production and accommodate work volumes toward enhanced member satisfaction.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement of job knowledge by exercising strong listening skills and asking questions for clarity.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
- Minimum 1 Year Processing and transmitting files or ACH systems, accounting, banking or other directly related experience experience required
