Part-Time Faculty: Topics in Entertainment Business: Artist Representation (Spring 2025)

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University is seeking an individual to teach TRF 430.2 w/TRF 630.2 Topics in Entertainment Business: Artist Representation during the Spring 2025 semester (1/13-5/6) which meets Mondays 9:30am-12:15pm (3 credits).
Course Description: This course is focused on learning about talent representation, particularly as an agent and manager in the entertainment industry. The class will equip students with the critical thinking skills, business acumen and advocacy training by incorporating them into real life roles as virtual or in-person talent representatives.
Students will be trained on how to source opportunities, evaluate business ventures and provide advice, counsel and guidance to professionals in varied sectors of the industry (e.g., filmmakers, writers, producers, directors, actors and/or social media influencers), based on a foundational understanding of the client’s potential, core business principles and the prevailing trends in the industry.
(no class on January 20th – Martin Luther King Jr. Day and no class on March 10th – Spring Break)
