CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor opening for our client in Cheektowaga, NY.

Location: Cheektowaga, NY

Duration: 6 months

Overview:

Responsible for processing conventional and government loan requests based on product, underwriting, and state-specific and investor guidelines. The Mortgage Processor will ensure effective communication and collaboration with all parties involved in the loan application process, while adhering to regulatory requirements and company standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain effective communication with customers, brokers, loan officers, and co-workers to ensure a seamless application experience.

Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to obtain necessary documentation, including Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, title searches, appraisals, and bank statements.

Notify necessary parties of any irregularities related to standard mortgage guidelines.

Monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and verifications to ensure all underwriting conditions are met.

Work closely with underwriting to resolve any issues or concerns quickly.

Perform administrative duties supporting the origination department, including preparing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowners insurance, mailing loan suspend notices, and updating loan conditions.

Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and guidelines.

Evaluate changes required for all regulatory documents with a strong analytical background.

Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management, adhering to the companys risk and regulatory standards.

Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects the company brand.

Maintain internal control standards and timely implement audit points and regulatory issues.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Work closely with both internal and external customers, including co-workers, borrowers, and loan officers.

Education and Experience Required:

Associates degree with a minimum of one year of mortgage industry experience or two years of equivalent work experience, OR in lieu of a degree, three years of equivalent work experience, including at least one year in the mortgage industry.

Six months specific M&T Bank mortgage processing experience plus an additional 6-12 months in customer service, operations, or the financial services industry.

Proficient in PC skills with strong knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Ability to make sound decisions based on provided information.

Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements.

Versatile and flexible in a fast-paced mortgage environment.

Ability to adapt to new policies and procedures to improve processes and workflow.

Independent work capability within time constraints.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workloads.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
