Description
Provides non‑emergency transportation in the wheel chair van. Works with a variety of people and organizations on a professional level to provide care to patients and the community.
Essential Functions
Provides safe transportation of clients to and from their destination.
Completes all transportation documentation adequately according to departmental guidelines and requirements within a twenty-four hour timeframe.
Operates vehicles within the Pennsylvania laws governing the operation of such vehicles.
Performs routine inspections as required, and maintenance of all patient care equipment.
Performs station inventories as needed as assigned.
Maintains familiarity with, and follows all rules of the hospital’s policies and procedures as outlined in the administrative and department policies or procedure manuals.
Agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position and has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct to his or her immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Chief Executive Officer.

Reports to: Paramedic Supervisor

Qualifications
Minimum of 21 years of age, Or 3 years driving experience with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
Maintain a valid CPR and First Aid certification.
Maintain current successful completion at all times in the following programs:
Valid PA driver’s license.
Must not have been convicted within the last four years of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and within the last two years, has not been convicted of reckless driving, or had a
drivers license suspended under the point system.
Good customer service skills; able to exhibit cooperative communication with other employees, hospital consumers, and outside organizations who utilize CHEMS.
Working Conditions
Physical environment may include working in all ranges of inclement weather conditions, during all hours of the day.
Hazards may include exertion in lifting and transferring patients, exposure to infectious disease, and occasionally working within the vicinity of moving vehicles.
