SUMMARY: This position is responsible for transportation for Whitsons vehicles and ensuring timely arrival of product to destination. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading. Assist with loading to make sure goods are correctly stowed. Communicate with office. Deliver and unload goods at required site. Obtain a receipt for goods delivered. Vehicle check must be done daily. Vehicle report must be completed weekly. Hand in all gas receipts/cards upon getting gas. Must maintain an odometer log daily. Responsible for daily cleanings of vehicle. No other passengers permitted in vehicle unless authorized by manager. Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations. Whitsons is not responsible for any traffic violations while you are driving the company vehicle and are on company time. If you receive a traffic violation, you will be responsible for the ticket. Report all mechanical problems and concerns to shipping. Perform additional duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow Whitsons Driver Policy Guidelines REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies: A driver’s license appropriate to the class of vehicle being driven is required. Excellent Driving record is required. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Able to pass background and drug screening Must complete all Whitsons and government required training as necessary PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Driving a moving vehicle majority of the workday turning wheel with arms and shoulders and looking in all directions, using legs for accelerate and braking Be standing on feet portion of the workday in addition to walking back and forth. Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Lifting while turning side to side is sometimes necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position sometimes requires extended hours including evenings and/or weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-state travel. This position requires random drug testing at the companies directive. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and warehousing areas while loading and unloading vehicle. Standing a lot of the workday is required. Work requires movement in and out of storerooms, near heavy machinery and freezers Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
