The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program is looking for an International Development Program Analyst to support the capacity strengthening team. This 70 person Program provides technical assistance to low and middle income countries to implement multipurpose surveys and build capacity in the use and analysis of the data collected. This is a full-time, hybrid position based at our Metro-accessible Rockville, MD office.
This person should be a self-starter, proactive, and self-motivated professional who is timely and efficient in the accomplishment of multiple and varied tasks. The position requires strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the coordination of numerous simultaneous assignments with varying deadlines. In addition, the person must be comfortable with technology and have the capacity to effectively use Web-based systems including SharePoint.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizing and managing logistics for workshop and online courses through regular communication with course participants and coordination of the course application process.
Assisting with the management of courses on the DHS Program Learning Hub and responding to inquiries from course participants.
Managing the DHS Program’s consultant database and communities of practice for specific tracks.
Preparing contracts and processing invoices for consultants and workshop participants.
Producing virtual instructor-led training sessions.
Translating and editing training materials for virtual training and blended learning.
Engaging fully as a member of the Capacity strengthening, including participating in staff meetings and other events, and providing support to other team members as needed.
Updating the DHS wealth index.
Developing eLearning courses using the appropriate software.
Coordinating workshop-related travel: Facilitating travel arrangements for staff, consultants and workshop participants, including preparing business letters, coordination of itineraries, insurance, visas, and billing.
Managing online travel permissions for capacity strengthening activities.
Supporting any other capacity strengthening activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in project management, public health, international development, or a related field, and 2 years of professional experience
Proficiency in spoken and written English
2 years experience with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel with strong keyboard skills
1 years experience developing and/or managing simple databases.
1 years experience working in a diverse environment, engaging with staff at all levels to define needs and expectations, collaborating on projects, and communicating results.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
French language fluency
Facility with technology, e.g. setting up audio/visual equipment and comfortable with technologies that facilitate virtual meetings and communication (e.g. Teams, SharePoint).
International experience.
Document formatting including tables and charts.
Experience with preparing contracts and processing invoices.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Articulate Storyline or related technology.
Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
Experience working independently and with a geographically diverse team.
Possess strong problem solving skills and be able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
Ability to integrate diverse information from varied sources.

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$49,452.00 – $84,068.00
