How you will create an impact
Functional Responsibilities:
Managing key claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis, legal liability assessment and settlement, where appropriate for complex claims
Ensuring effective vendor management on Complex claims within a personal allocation.
Reporting key claims messages to their Manager and to internal stakeholders
Broader internal / external stakeholder communication with insured
Ensure adherence to best practice claim procedures
Handle mid-level of complexity Ocean claim losses within authority limits
Accountabilities:
Timely, accurate and customer focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor expense
Effective communication and management of key advanced Complex claims and Marine portfolio messages to internal stakeholders and customers/clients.
Financial control through consistent reserve and other financial transaction discipline
Accurate and consistent policy interpretation
What youll need to succeed
Technical Skills and Expertise:
Well-developed/Advanced expertise and knowledge in Ocean Marine (Hull, P&I, Liability) most technically complex claims topics
Complex claims handling; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment. Ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on claims.
Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
An advanced and thorough knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Hull, P&I, Liability business
Experience in negotiation and resolving of claims
Additional Requirements:
Multi-line Licensed adjuster
Must be detailed oriented, have problem solving skills, be self-motivated, proactive, and have forward thinking skills.
5 years work experience in Hull, P&I, Liability Claims
Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills, effective time management and organizational skills.
Proficient computer skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred
