Summary:
The Craft – Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating and driving trucks/vehicles to support operations at the project site.
Specific duties:
Operates vehicles and/or equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Loads and unloads truck to and from job site, may involve heavy lifting.
Inspects site to ensure safe environment to load and unload.
Reports any accidents and/or injuries immediately.
For DOT drivers:
Performs all required DOT inspections and complies with other regulatory DOT requirements by adhering to state and federal laws and regulations.Safety:
Ensures that safety is the most important function and follows safe practices while working.
Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) occurs before scopes of work commence.
Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Follows technical, quality, and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected. Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Maintain a clear motor vehicle record (MVR) according to DOT and company standards.
Maintain a proper license and/or CDL that is in good standing:
Class A License
Class B License
DOT License
Tanker endorsements a plus.
Ability to operate and drive a vehicle/truck.
Good communication skills.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately.Ability to work on different types of terrain.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in the construction field.
Maintain a clear motor vehicle record (MVR) according to DOT and company standards.
Maintain a proper license and/or CDL that is in good standing:
Class A license
Class B license
DOT license
Anticipated Range : $21.00 – $30.00
Physical requirements and environment:
The work environment and physical demands characteristics are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
