Job Summary

The School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi seeks applications for an Instructor in Computer Science. The position will be based at the Universitys main campus in Hattiesburg.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Teaches twelve hours of undergraduate courses in the computer science discipline each regular semester.

Engages in service to the School of Computing Sciences & Computer Engineering

Communicates any concerns or issues with the program coordinator or school director

Follows the policies and procedures of the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences and the University including maintaining office hours and being responsive to student communications

Assists with academic advising and mentoring as assigned

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in computer science or closely related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a university or college setting.
