Heartland has an immediate opening for a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant located at our Corporate Office located in Whitehall, Ohio. Primarily responsible to assist the loan processing team with clerical and administrative duties needed to facilitate the timely and accurate packaging for submission to underwriting for Heartland Banks mortgage and construction loans.
In this highly visible role, a typical day might include the following:
– Order credit report, appraisal, title, tax transcripts, homeowners and flood insurance or other documents and services, as applicable and track to ensure timely receipt.
– Request FHA case numbers, VA appraiser assignments.
– Order Verifications of Rent, Mortgage, and Income to submit for Processor review.
– Pro-actively communicate file status to borrower(s), Mortgage Loan Officer and other staff as required to ensure excellent customer service.
– Maintain working logs to track files, tasks and processes.
– Work closely with loan processing and closing team on special projects as may arise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
– High school diploma or equivalent
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
– Strong MS Word, Excel and email skills with Encompass or FISERV Navigator experience a plus
– Ability to meet strict time deadlines and work independently
– Detail oriented and able to follow set guidelines
– Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, federal/state regulations
– Knowledge of automated underwriting and agency guidelines including but not limited to FNMA, FHA, VA and USDA is a plus.
– Must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
