Underground & Aerial Laborer – NE Ohio

Our client is a leader in fiber optic and conduit construction, they are seeking dedicated Underground and Aerial Laborers to join our NW Ohio team. These are contract to hire positions supporting both underground and aerial construction projects, requiring strong teamwork and manual dexterity. Candidates will work closely with their respective Foremen to ensure efficient and safe execution of projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

For Underground Laborer:

• Assist the Underground Foreman in operating directional bore machines and trenching equipment.

• Perform tasks such as site preparation, trench digging, conduit placement, and material handling.

• Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally assist with overnight travel as needed.

• Other duties as assigned to support the underground construction crew.

For Aerial Laborer:

• Support the Aerial Foreman in setting up and maintaining aerial construction sites.

• Operate hand and power tools, prepare job sites, and carry materials to designated areas.

• Set braces to support excavations, clean up debris, and remove waste materials.

• Ensure safe operation around bucket trucks and elevated structures.

• Ability to work at heights and handle materials efficiently in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.

• Comfortable working on foot for extended periods.

• Reliable transportation is required.

• Previous experience in construction or telecom is a plus

• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
