As a Lab Technician II, you will be responsible for specific laboratory specimens, orders, and information disposition. A caregiver in this role performs specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems and performs general lab and quality assurance procedures.
A caregiver in this position may work variable hours based on your availability.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.
Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.
Maintain patient, specimen and tracking data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.
Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associates Degree or equivalent.
One year of lab experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Three years of progressive lab experience may substitute for required education.

Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include visual acuity and the ability to distinguish colors; manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment; may require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
