Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Quality Excellence Leader (QEL) leads safety and quality initiatives. This position will help identify and lead the implementation of quality improvement activities through the development, oversight and coordination of detailed work plans and gap analysis of various internal constituents and external agencies. This position assists with the analyses; review trends/research and develops new and more efficient approaches to care of the patients. The QEL works to maximize the impact on operational efficiency, incentive reimbursement and population health.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Current Registered Nurse with a current Michigan license. BSN and Masters Degree in Nursing or a health related degree; or baccalaureate and MSN. Three to five years of quality improvement background. Green Belt certification preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient at the use of computer databases, importing and exporting data, report development and basic statistical analysis.
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate complex theoretical and technical concepts effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
Advanced analytical and computer skills in order to manage project work and data.
Advanced analytical skills necessary to develop sound recommendations and assist in implementing improved delivery of care systems, policies and procedures, evaluating clinical practice outcomes and developing educational programs.
Ability to work with and lead multidisciplinary teams in initiatives to facilitate implementation and measurement activities.
Ability to integrate information across myriad settings with the goal of standardization (when appropriate), simplification, and reduction of non-value-added work and steps.
