TITLE: Housing Intake Coordinator
SUPERVISOR: Director of Housing Quality & Energy Conservation
SUPERVISES: No one
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
STARTING WAGE: $14.50
JOB GOAL: To meet with clients and complete applications for all programs within the Housing Quality & Energy Conservation department, obtain and verify all documentation needed for client files, and connect clients to other agencies/departments for additional needed services.
DUTIES:
– Screen new/potential clients both by phone and walk-ins; explain department programs as they relate to household needs
– Prepare and send out needs letters as they relate to services requested (Utility, Wx, CDBG, HEP etc.)
– Schedule client appointments for program applications and make clients aware of all necessary documentation needed for each individual program
– Responsible for completing Weatherization, Home Rehabilitation, MIHOPE, and utility assistance applications
– Meet with clients for the application process, verify income, perform income calculations, determine income eligibility, and complete a family budget
– Verify all documentation obtained in client file by contacting appropriate persons
– Network with other service providers and make appropriate referrals to clients needing additional services
– Document services and results in FACSPro, EmpowOR, or other agency-wide database system
– Submit completed files to the appropriate staff member
– Educate families on energy conservation
– Assist in preparing for all file monitoring within Housing Quality & Energy Conservation
– Assist with MCOP fundraising efforts
– Attend outreach events as needed
– Comply with Federal Privacy Act Regulation
– General clerical duties, such as filing, typing, answering phones, etc.
– Attend trainings as required
– Other duties as requested by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or its equivalent. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel strongly preferred. Must have the ability to perform calculations to determine income. Must have access to vehicle during work hours, and a good driving record.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a grant-funded position. Renewable each year upon grant renewal. Regular full-time (40 hours per week) at MCOP Central Office, 1140 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161
