Position Summary:

Responsible for providing level 1 support to patients and their families. This includes assisting them with registration procedures, providing service and facility information, obtaining information such as medical histories, and coordinating delivery of care for registered patients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Welcomes customers and patients as they arrive and ask how they would like to be assisted.

2. Provides necessary information regarding the facility’s services and doctors’ availability.

3. Obtains necessary patient information such as medical histories and insurance information and ensures that it is properly processed and recorded.

4. Contacts insurance companies to verify coverage and benefits and provides doctors with feedback on coverage and copays.

5. Assists patients in understanding how their insurance coverage works; calculates and presents copays.

6. Places medical equipment and supplies orders from vendors and suppliers and ensures that they are expedited.

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Six months of customer service experience.

Preferred:

Prior health care experience.
