About the unit

This home-like facility offers programs and activities to support daily living and provides 24/7 care for adults. Resident aides provide personal care assistance and instruction to the residents of the home, while promoting independence and quality of life.

Scope of work

Provides personal care assistance, instruction, and promotes independence and quality of life for residents. The Residential Aide also performs a variety of household tasks essential to the operation and cleanliness of the group home. Monitors the health of residents and reports any signs of residents’ illness to the supervisor or designated medical staff. Attends staff meetings, resident care conferences, and in-service education programs as assigned.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred 1 year of relevant experience in a rehabilitation or health care setting

Required Drivers License from the State of Michigan upon hire

Required AHA First Aid Certification within 30 days

AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 30 days
