Job Description
Responsible for functioning as a member of a fish hatchery work unit. Is knowledgeable in, and carries out, a full range of tasks, methods, practices, and procedures used in technical fish culture and stocking. The purpose of this position is to produce a specified number of healthy, high-quality fish to be stocked as a tool in fisheries management.

Must possess or be able to obtainwithin six months of hirea class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement and without air brake restriction . Acquiring and maintaining a valid CDL is a condition of employment.
Must obtain a commercial Pesticide Applicator’s license within 12 months of hire. Acquiring and maintaining valid Pesticide Applicator’s license certification is a condition of employment.
Will be assigned to On-Call status and participate in the facilities’ on-call rotation and must be able to respond to a callback within the required response time.

Possession of an associate’s degree in science with course work emphasis in limnology, ichthyology, aquatic systems, or field biology.

Fisheries Technician E10
Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher with 16 semester (24 term) credits in job specific or related course work may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
