At Corteva Agriscience, you will help us grow what is next. As a Senior Research Associate in the Genome Technology Discovery team (GTD) team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing agricultural science and technology. You will leverage your expertise in molecular biology and analytical techniques to develop and implement cutting-edge technologies that will drive innovation and improve the lives of people globally.
What You Will Do (include but not limited to):
Adopt and implement evolving technologies and methodologies that enhance and improve product development
Track technological advancements within relevant areas of interest to evaluate for potential product development value add
Utilize a variety of laboratory technologies, including gene expression, microscopy, plant cell culture, flow cytometry, cell transfection, and bioinformatic tools and software to collect, evaluate, and distribute data following detailed protocols
Summarize experiments, manage experimental protocols, and analyze data
Manage multiple projects and deadlines within a matrixed organization
Work independently or as a team, as appropriate, to accomplish specific research goals
Maintain laboratory organization and ensure compliance with best laboratory practices
Build solid relationships and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree (preferred) in scientific field with relevant experience
Skills You Need:
Experience with standard laboratory instrumentation, devices, and equipment
Proficiency in modern microscopy techniques and imaging systems
Strong background in molecular biology techniques and sterile laboratory practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
Quickly grasp new subject areas and tasks to contribute effectively to the team
Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and technical writing skills
Perform tasks safely under Cortevas core values and maintain compliance with best laboratory practices
What Makes You Stand Out:
Previous experience in agronomy, biology, microbiology, plant science, or similar agricultural related field
Technologically savvy: Comfortable with technology and possesses computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Experienced in programming languages such as R, Python or Matlab. Willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Collaborative skills: Actively share knowledge and expertise to drive team success, lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve goals
Results Driven: Demonstrated problem-solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills. Self-motivated and ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem-solving. Detail-oriented, strong time management and organizational skills
Safety Oriented: Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
