We are looking for “Entry Level” candidates to join our Forge/Warehouse Team. Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive training program with opportunities to advance, develop skills and experience in forging. This is hot, heavy, dirty work that will challenge you – but will also reward you with great pay, benefits, and stability.
Forge Utility Responsibilities:
Locate material according to shop order information, verify material identifty, visually examime material for defects, and transport material, scrap, and forgings throughout production area.
Operate and refuel long reaches and fork trucks as needed.
Verify material identity before loading into furnace.
Fill in as forge crew member as needed.
Collaborate with the Blacksmith or appropriate forge personnel to coordinate pre-forging loads.
Manage the loading, unloading and operation of the furnace to maintain production schedules for forging and cooling cycles, following the forge process manual.
Grind material defects with hand grinder or overhead grinder, load and secure material.
Use welder/grinder to repair tools as needed
Extract scrap materials from press pits with shovel, transfer scrap to designated dumpsters by metal type.
Unload cooling pits and transport parts to designated areas.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
As an employee-owner, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need.
Ability to analyze, interpret and follow both oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, analyze situations and conditions, implement solutions and work under deadline pressure.
Excellent attendance and safety history
Basic computer skills, blueprint reading and knowledge of simple math concepts
Ability to maintain a valid forklift operating certificate.
.Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
Ability to work in outdoor setting in various weather conditions
Ability to stand, bend and lift weights to 64 lbs
Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration
