Cost Accountant

JOB REQUIREMENTS: General Summary: The Cost Accountant monitors all
Flambeau locations and is responsible for reviewing quotes prepared by
others and the development and analysis of labor and overhead rates by
plant and work center type. This role frequently interacts with
manufacturing leadership, engineering, process managers, and sales.
Travel to all facilities each quarter is expected. This is a 100% onsite
position located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Essential Duties: Administer an
enterprise-wide standard costing methodology Maintain cost accounting
procedures and controls for process costs such as labor, manufacturing,
material handling/storage, administration Develop and maintain standard
labor and overhead rates Review estimating process to ensure accurate
costing is applied and achieved in manufacturing Evaluate work order
variances and follow up on excessive variances Provide recommendations
to, and coordinate with, Engineering to promote standard cost accuracy
Proactively identify major omissions and errors in cost/BOM information
Prepare audit reports and present findings to management Monitor and
review ECOs, respond to costing issues Develop operational reports and
analysis to identify opportunities for improvement Recommend changes to
company processes/policies to reduce cost and maximize profitability
Contribute toward month end close activities Education/Certification
Requirements: Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience Experience & Skill Requirements:
Three (3) years of experience with manufacturing costing systems
Advanced knowledge of ERP software, Delmia is a plus Power BI
(read/write) is a plus Analytical, detail-oriented, approachable Assess
business processes, research related costs, and calculate cost to
manufacturer Ability to interact effectively with all levels Advanced
knowledge and use of Excel Physical Requirements: This is an office role
with minimal physical requirements. Ability to sit for long periods of
time up to 8 hours a day and may be required to lift up to 40 pounds
occasionally. Requires use of office equipment such as computer and/or
