What’s the job?

The primary role of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator is to support, plan, and assist in the implementation and execution of policies and procedures to reduce EHS risks to employees and visitors at the Shakopee manufacturing facility.

Essential Job Duties:

Administer and support programs such as but not limited to Hearing Conservation, Respiratory, Chemical (SDS), Personal Protective Equipment, Industrial Health, Blood Borne Pathogens, MN AWAIR, Haz Com, Haz Waste, Spill Response, Forklift, LOTO, Machine Guarding, etc.

Conduct LOTO audits and support program requirements.

Support training regarding company-specific, OSHA, and MPCA or other compliance requirements.

Assist in creating, maintaining, documenting, and communicating EHS-related policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that they are followed.

Ensure that proper safety practices are observed in the workplace.

Support internal EHS inspections/regulations (OSHA, EPA, MPCA, etc.)

Support EHS inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.

Maintain required EHS records as required by OSHA, MPCA, and Saint-Gobain

Conducts risk assessment and job safety analysis of routine and non-routine tasks.

Analyses first aid, near miss, and behavior-based metrics to help determine safety objectives to support the company’s continuous improvement philosophy.

Observe working conditions, equipment, and employee behaviors to identify safety problems and corrective actions.

Conduct JSA’s/hazard assessments.

Maintain and update EHS Kiosk.

Coordinate hazardous waste management (storage, labeling, inspection, disposal, etc.)

Conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis.

Conduct behavior-based assessments (SMAT)

Participate and support 5S process.

May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned .

What do you bring?

High School diploma (Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety field or related work experience preferred).

Familiarity with OSHA, MPCA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC rules and regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Strong in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
