Responsibilities
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
1. Management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery.
2. Plan for and manage human, fiscal and other resources.
3. Maintains and retains core nursing staff by recruitment, selection, interviewing and training and the completion of Staff Performance Appraisals
4. Address behavioral issues, including disciplinary actions.
5. Compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
6. Participate in and ensure support for quality improvement.
7. Participate in and ensure support for patient and employee safety programs.
8. Participate in and ensure support for efforts to foster and strengthen the patient experience.
9. Participate in development and implementation of strategic and operational department plans.
10. Fostering interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
11. Maintain clinical practice knowledge.
12. Customer Satisfaction including patient rounding, addressing patient complaints thru service recovery, IRIS and Grievance Process.
13. Maintain a safe and effective work environment by investigating all IRIS reports within timeframe and follow up.
14. Responsible for trauma, stroke Readiness and Stemi designation.
15. Completes billing for hospital services rendered (Telepsych, Avel, OPTUM); validates charges for MU requirements, LYNX, and Charge Reconciliation.
16. Responsible staffing for each scheduled shift and productivity.
17. Direct and cordial contact with ER physicians – Acts as a resource for ER and MedSurg nurses.
18. Complies and supports change with all CHI policies.
19. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by completion of Education assignments, attending mandatory in-services, and participation in professional networks
20. Responsible for annual review of department policy/procedures/Development of new nursing policies/procedures.
21. Management of Ambulance Services.
22. Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
Graduate of accredited professional nursing education program
MN RN Licensure, BLS
Preferred
Master’s Degree
Pay Range
$40.66 – $58.96 /hour
