Litigation Legal Assistant

The Litigation Legal Assistant provides administrative assistance to all litigation timekeepers. This individual works within a team environment to ensure uninterrupted workflow in service.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Draft, review and proofread all documents and correspondence produced, check for proper formatting, spelling and grammatical errors, as well as ensuring that all signature pages, attachments, exhibits or enclosures are accurate and complete before distribution
2. Execute electronic court filings and download court pleadings
3. Maintain client files (both paper and electronic), organize and file documents in designated order, and complete electronic scanning
4. Conduct accounting tasks, including processing expenses, reimbursements, invoices, pre-bills, and entering time into the Firms time and billing system, reviewing of billing statements, and editing same for preparation of final billing
5. Support trial preparation to include maintaining and tracking case chronology
6. Manage upkeep of multiple calendars and scheduling systems
7. Perform digital transcription tasks
8. May assist in preparing discovery production and schedule depositions
9. Perform conflict checks, draft engagement letters in connection with file opening, and complete the file opening process
10. Coordinate and make travel arrangements
11. Effectively track and manage CLE reporting
12. Effectively communicate information and updates on projects with clients and timekeepers

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A
Required Experience: 2-4 years office experience including MS Office Suite
Preferred Experience: Legal office experience including general knowledge of litigation practices and electronic court filings
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
