Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA is currently seeking a Machine Operator – 2nd Shift . This position is based at our Kearney, NE location. The primary function of the Machine Operator is to set up, operate and/or tend more than one type of metal cutting machine meeting specification to produce high quality parts for our customers. They will also adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials.

Core Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 per hour $.70 shift differential.

What you’ll do:

• Follows safety policies and procedures in the performance of listed daily functions

• Monitors banks of machines, visually checking and gauging parts to ensure machines are running to specifications and free of defects

• Completes paperwork, datalogs, and SPC charts as required to ensure proper dimensions are set on each machine

• Reads process sheets to verify as aspects of assigned operation including blueprint dimensions, required tooling, machine parameters, and control plan information

• Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and continually adjust machines, tooling, and wheels to keep parts within allowable tolerances

• Assists in maintenance and changeover of machinery and changes worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and grinding wheels

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Kearney, NE. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED

• Prior manufacturing experience

Skills:

• Maintains 5-S criteria within the department

• Work well with a team

• Detailed Blueprint reading

• Fork truck operation
